We love it because…

The company introduced its Only Way Is Ethics programme to focus its business practices and challenge their environmental impact, with a goal of making 80% of their products sustainable by 2023. They’re on course to hit that milestone a year early, having swapped standard cotton to organic wherever possible, saving 2,457 litres of water per t-shirt and reducing their environmental footprint dramatically due to no soil damage and less air impact from pesticides and insecticides.

For the outdoorsy one

For the cider lover

Cranes Ciders are crafted in Cambridgeshire by twin brothers Ben and Dan. They use only natural ingredients making their ciders 30% less calorific and 40% less sugary than other leading brands. The gift set includes three tantalising fruit ciders (Blueberries & Apples, Cranberries & Limes, Raspberries & Pomegranates), along with a branded pint glass. It’s also gluten free and vegan.

Delivery: Get it the next day on Amazon Prime (£16.99), or order this and more directly from Cranes Drinks here. Pssst it’s cheaper direct at £14.50 but you will pay £2.99 delivery for orders under £30, and you’ll need to allow around five days for it to arrive. More info on shipping here.

We love it because…

Small but mighty, the company offsets each of its five employees' carbon footprint by planting trees in sustainable woodland. In 2021 alone, they’ve offset 26.66 tonnes of CO2 and planted 505 trees, adding around 75 trees a month, which varies dependant on sales. The more they sell, the more they plant. Winner.

For the stargazers and the bereaved

Buy your dad his very own star that’s visible to you from the UK. We know that Father’s Day can be a particularly painful time for those bereaved so this can be a heartfelt way to mark a special tribute for your loved one if they’re sadly no longer here. Father’s Day can be exclusionary to the bereaved but we want you to know we’re thinking of you and your family on this day. You can locate your star at any time using the free app. Prices start from £14.99.

Delivery: The gift set is dispatched from Star Name Registry free of charge within 12 hours of purchase and arrives within 1-3 days if ordered before 3:50pm. Next working day delivery available at extra cost. Name your star here.

We love it because…

A percentage of monthly profits goes to charities that give back to the earth, children, or fighting illness, including Life for African Mothers that provides voluntary midwives and training in Africa to prevent mothers dying in childbirth.

For the chilled out one

If your pops loves kicking his feet up, make sure they’re snug in these colourful Woolpop slippers (£49.99).
Choose from nine different colours which, thanks to Giesswein’s 3D Knit Technique, are comfortable, soft, flexible, breathable and non-slip. The sheep’s wool will keep feet both warm and dry, and all slippers come with low arch support. The brand is favoured by Hollywood superstar Harrison Ford. If they’re good enough for Indiana Jones, they’re good enough for us!

Delivery: In the EU, shipping usually takes 2-5 business days but allow up to a week.

We love it because…

The company has a mega green company strategy and takes sustainability super seriously, including recycling scrap material, a 0% wasted material policy, local production, 0% oil use, 100% use of renewable resources and 90% recycled water in the production process. They ensure a no mulesing policy and maintain animal ethicacy standards - meaning happy, pain-free and safe sheep! The brand also makes 100% recycled ocean plastic flats and jackets, to give plastic a second life.

For the caffeine fiend

Does your pops love tea? Treat him to Tea Pigs’ virtual tea school. Hosted by experts Andy and Leonie via Zoom, the session is a fantastic way to learn about all things tea and slurp along with a tasting kit worth £17.99 included in the £25 ticket price. You can join your dad and share his tea to enjoy the two-hour evening session together. All profits go to Tea Pigs’ ethical scheme.

Delivery: Last chance to book is 9 days before your tea school date (remaining Zoom dates June 24th and July 8th) so get cracking here.

We love it because

Most of the tea for the brand’s signature everyday brew comes from Gisenyi, Rwanda, and the company works with the Point Foundation to support orphans and vulnerable young people in the area.

It also makes a donation to the charity with each pack of everyday brew sold, matches customer donations made on the Tea Pig website and has raised over £400,000 for charity with fundraisers.

For the active one

If your pops loves nothing more than a teeth-shatteringly cold drink, this one is for them. Enter the £40 Ocean Bottle. It’s dishwasher safe, easy to fill, easy to clean, superb cold (and hot) insulation, allows for zero leaks and has a handy carry loop and cup.

Delivery: within 2-3 days in the UK costs £3.95, or it’s free for two or more bottles.

We love it because…

For the sale of every Ocean Bottle, the company contributes directly to Plastic Bank, which ensures 11.4kg of plastic - the equivalent of over 1000 plastic bottles - will be collected. Ocean Bottle also works with Plastic Bank and IBM to formalise often informal and unfair waste sector practices so that local plastic collectors receive a fair income for their hard work.
